Outreach: Connecting Community
Books and movies can be a great escape, but only if you can access them. We know many patrons cannot borrow materials because they cannot physically visit the library. The mission of the Outreach department is to increase access to library materials and programs by reaching our community members where they are.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Thanks to the generous support of donors and the local community, your child can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library until they turn five years old as long as your child lives within Lincoln County.
Home Delivery
Lincoln County residents are eligible for library materials delivered to their homes through our outreach vehicle.
Let us come to you! Our Outreach Librarian maintains a bi-weekly schedule traveling throughout the county to deliver materials directly to your door. Call 606-365-7513 to find out more!
Outreach Programs
LCPL promotes reading, creating, playing, and learning outside the library walls by offering community outreach programs. Do you have a group or community event that would like to partner with us? Contact our outreach staff.
Community Stops
Where groups of people live or meet, we set up a regular schedule at the location bringing materials for the individuals to borrow. We currently provide this service in addition to our outreach programs. In the future, this will be expanded through our new bookmobile.
United Way Born Learning Trails
Lincoln County has 2 Born Learning Trails in the community, provided by partnerships with Heart of Kentucky United Way, LC Fiscal Court, LC Parks & Rec, and LC Public Library. One is at First Southern Veteran’s Park, and the other is at Logan-Hubble Park.
The Born Learning Trail is a series of 10 interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families. It helps parents, caregivers, and communities create quality engagement opportunities during a stroll or visit a local playground.
Little Free Libraries
Easy access to books benefits the entire community. We monitor and provide books to the Little Free Libraries in Lincoln County. We currently service the Little Free Libraries at Hustonville Elementary, Crab Orchard City Park, Kings Mountain School, and Waynesburg Clinic. If you need materials for a Little Free Library, please contact us.
